John D. Rockefeller Estate
We were fortunate to have had the opportunity to work on multiple buildings on the remarkable Rockefeller estate, an architectural treasure listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Certain changes needed to be integrated seamlessly, leaving the historical character intact. Other changes were strikingly modern and clearly differentiated from what had come before. In both cases, we were driven by a profound respect for our client, and the determination to live up to the trust granted us. Those values and that commitment have remained with us ever since. (1)
Residential addition
The Owners of this ranch style home wanted to build an addition with deck to give themselves a comfortable and informal living and dining space, opening up to their kitchen, with a great view of their backyard.
Their budget, however, was tight. Working with their contractor, we were able to keep the design fees and construction costs very low, to meet their budget.
The Owners are very pleased with the results, and the addition is now their favorite living and entertaining space. Although modest in size, we are just a proud of that accomplishment as we are of any other.
